Frequently Asked Questions
What does MACC do?
Masters Advanced Clinical Care (MACC) is a clinician-led neurodivergent and neuro-affirming medical service supporting children, young people, adults, and families.
Our team is proudly neurodivergent-informed many of our clinicians are neurodivergent themselves or have close family members who are allowing us to combine lived experience, deep empathy, and clinical expertise. Our work is guided by our values of compassion, empowerment, safety, and dignity.
We provide assessment, diagnosis, and support for neurodivergent individuals, including:
- ADHD Assessments and Medication Titration
- Autism Assessments
- Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) assessments, including dyslexia and dyscalculia
- Talking therapies, including CBT
- Psychoeducation for individuals and families
- Post-diagnostic guidance, treatment planning, and support pathways
- Education Support Pathway, where our SENCo Lead can help guide schools on how to support your child by explaining recommendations and discussing practical adjustments during a follow-up meeting, where appropriate
All services are delivered through a secure, remote-first model, ensuring accessibility, flexibility, and continuity of care.
How do I start the assessment process?
You begin by completing our online enquiry and screening form, which helps us understand your needs and identify the most appropriate assessment pathway (ADHD, Autism, SpLD, or a combined approach).
Following this, we guide you step-by-step through:
- Pre-assessment questionnaires
- Clinical assessment appointments
- Feedback, reporting, and next-step planning
You will always be supported by our team throughout the process.
Can you assess for more than one condition?
Yes. Where clinically appropriate, MACC can provide combined or tailored assessments, including ADHD, Autism, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. Screening information helps clinicians determine whether a single or multi-pathway assessment is most suitable.
What happens after I submit an enquiry?
Once your enquiry is received, you will be guided through:
- Completion of pre-assessment questionnaires
- Secure video consultation(s) with a clinician
- Clinical decision-making and diagnostic formulation
- A detailed written report
- Discussion of recommendations, treatment options, and support pathways
Can I use the NHS to fund my assessment?
For people registered with a GP in England, NHS Right to Choose referrals for ADHD and Autism assessments may be available.
MACC is currently in the process of establishing its NHS Right to Choose referral pathway. While this pathway is not yet live, we are actively working towards registration and onboarding to enable eligible patients to access assessments through NHS funding in the future.
In the meantime:
- We can provide guidance on the Right to Choose process
- We can advise on preparing for referral once the pathway opens
- Private assessment options remain available for those who wish to proceed sooner
Updates will be shared on our website once the Right to Choose pathway becomes available.
What if I’m not eligible for NHS funding?
If NHS funding is not available, MACC offers private assessment and support packages with transparent pricing provided before booking.
Importantly, psychoeducation is included at no additional cost within private assessment fees, ensuring you receive meaningful understanding and guidance alongside any diagnostic outcome.
How much will it cost?
Costs vary depending on:
- Assessment type (ADHD, Autism, SpLD, or combined)
- NHS-funded vs private access
Full pricing details and funding options are explained clearly before booking, so you can make an informed decision or can be found on our pricing page.
Do I need to travel for appointments?
No. MACC operates a fully remote, secure video consultation model, allowing you to attend appointments from home without the stress or cost of travel.
Who will be involved in my care?
Your care is delivered by a multidisciplinary clinical team. Depending on your needs, this may include access to:
- Advanced clinical practitioners and specialist assessors
- Paediatric consultants via MDT discussion where required
- Psychiatrist consultations via MDT discussion where required
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Pharmacists
This MDT approach ensures safe, holistic, and evidence-based decision-making.
What will my report include?
Your written clinical report will include:
- Background and assessment summary
- Clinical formulation and diagnostic outcome
- Clear medical reasoning explaining why diagnostic criteria were met or not met
- Diagnostic criteria mapping (where applicable)
- Strengths-based understanding of needs
- Practical recommendations for home, education, work, or daily life
- Signposting to further support and therapies
Reports are written to be clear, respectful, and meaningful — not just diagnostic labels.
